I am a practical girl, and I know well that my summer blog reading probably won’t be as extensive as it is while the kiddos are in school. There are certain places, though, that I will make it a point to sneak in some “me” time to enjoy, and today I wanted to pass along the list of my Fabulous Five blog must-reads (in no particular order) to hopefully motivate you to make some time for yourself this summer to find some creative inspiration!

These blogs all possess one defining characteristic: a sense of community. Each of these bloggers makes it a point to interact and encourage her readers, something I think is a hallmark of true blogging success!

Tatertots & Jello

Jen’s blog was the very first I ever followed, and I have been an avid reader ever since. Jen is genuine, immensely talented, and incredibly creative, and her project ideas never cease to impress. I love the heart she has for showcasing the work of other bloggers, and the effort she puts into nurturing relationships with her readers!

U Create

There are some girls who just have a sense for all things fabulous, and Kari is certainly one of those. Each time she posts something new, I know it is going to be only the most top-notch of the blogging world’s offerings. With posts spotlighting projects from other bloggers as well as original project ideas, U Create is simply a great place to be!

Infarrantly Creative

Real. Genuine. Daring. Those are the first words that come to mind when I think of Beckie’s blog. She blogs authentically, and she is willing to share openly each step along the way. I have never before seen someone who can take a roadside castaway object and turn it into something spectacular the way this girl can! Beckie’s dedication to helping fellow bloggers find their way in the blogging community is something that endears me to her all the more.

Today’s Creative Blog

Kim truly has a heart for empowering women to tap into their creative potential, and her blog is a reflection of just that. With posts spotlighting the best sites the blogging community has to offer, you are sure to find something to inspire you when you stop in for a visit.

In terms of craft blog superstars, Cindy of Skip to My Lou fame has got to be one of the names that immediately comes to mind. The accolades are well deserved, as her blog archives are a veritable treasure trove of ideas for everything from Christmas crafts to teacher appreciation gift ideas and – literally! – everything in between. What impresses me so much about Cindy, though, is how amazingly down to earth and approachable she is!

I am sure many (if not all) of these blogs might very well be on your list of daily reads. If not, I encourage you to check them out! In terms of the places that have shaped me as a blogger, I couldn’t have carved a path without the trailblazing of these fabulous women.

So now – your turn! Pretend your computer only allowed you to read five blogs for the next few months. Which ones would you pick?
