GIVEAWAY CLOSED
Congratulations to #43, Laura J.!
There are a few friends I’ve made along the path of my blogging journey, and included in that group is the immensely talented Lindsay of
The Cottage Home Blog. She and I began blogging around the same time, and I have been thrilled beyond measure to see her parlay her incredible knack for creating stunning, classic children’s garments for boys and girls into a pattern-designing business.
Anyone who has ever visited Lindsay’s blog knows her passion for crafting timeless garments for little ones with great attention to detail, and each of her patterns conveys that same feel. She and I have exchanged emails in the past about how similar her sewing tastes and my talented mom’s are, so when she approached me recently to let Mama Reita and I review on of her latest sewing patterns, I was very excited!
There are three new patterns in The Cottage Mama lineup:
When it came time to select the pattern for Mom and me to review, I knew immediately which one I would choose: Miss Charlotte absolutely had to have a
Charlotte Apron Dress of her very own!
What first struck Mama Reita and me about this pattern is how many different design possibilities there are! There are three different variations, including instructions for creating an embellished bodice, a darling teacup applique (the pattern applique is included), and yo-yo embellishments. This pattern ranges from size 6 month all the way through 8 years, which means you will be able to sew with it time and time again to create any number of truly unique garments for a little girl in your life. This pattern is a high-quality, professionally printed paper pattern. No fussing with piecing and assembling your own pattern pieces!
I love that Lindsay’s patterns are an unabashed counter to so many of the overly “grown-up” looks out there today for little girls. Her designs are classic and classy, yet they exude a whimsical, youthful sensibility.
When I first opened the box to see what Mama Reita made with this pattern, I squealed with delight. Isn’t it lovely?
The full skirt is perfect for a girly twirl in the grass…
…and I absolutely love the apron front and the band she added to the bottom to showcase some fun “flip-flop” grosgrain trim.
Coordinating fabric-covered buttons and a detachable flower embellishment complete the look.
I would say we have ourselves a happy little model!
Giveaway time!
How would you like to win a Cottage Mama pattern of your very own? Lindsay is generously offering one lucky PS reader the pattern of her choice from her three new patterns: The Charlotte Apron Dress, The Ruby Ruffle Dress, or the Run Around Romper. Entries for this one are as easy as can be: simply leave me a comment letting me know which pattern in your favorite!
Giveaway will run through 11:59 p.m. CDT on July 2, 2012. The winner will be notified via email on or after July 3, 2012. Those who do not leave an email address along with their entry for the sake of notification are subject to disqualification. Giveaway open to US residents only. Thank you!
Be sure to venture over to check out the other talented ladies who have taken part in this pattern blog tour for even more inspiration. I am honored that Mama Reita and I were included in such a stellar lineup!
Good luck, everyone!

My favorite is the Charlotte Apron Dress – although I like many others too! Particularly like the flip flop ribbon trim on PS’s dress. I assume that was custom made, what a clever idea and great use for the trim.
