When I bought my first house, my mum proudly presented me with a box of keepsakes which included my first 3 teeth, the wrist tag from the hospital and other such items. Of course you should keep it! I’ve still kept the crown that fell out of my mouth 2 years ago!!

What a DARLING little guy!! I can only imagine how mushy I will feel over the first tooth falling out!

My baby is not quite to teething, but I know when her first one comes in, I will bawl like a baby! I can't even imagine her losing her first tooth, though I realize that time will fly by.

And I will definitely keep the tooth. Gross as it may seem to some, I saved her umbilical cord stumpy. There's just something about those "tangible" milestones, like you said. Makes me want to cry just as much or more than the ones you can't keep (rolling over, first smile, first giggle). Aw.

There are cute little “First Tooth” boxes that you can get (I think I even saw some on walmart.com) to keep them in so you can look at them as a keepsake. I definitely recommend only keeping the first one. I remember getting in my mom’s bottom drawer once when I was 7 or 8 and finding ALL of my old teeth! Not only did I not believe in the Tooth Fairy anymore after that, I was grossed out! If he finds his first lost tooth while he still believes in the tooth fairy, you can explain that she thought you would like to have that as a keepsake. All of them is a little more difficult.
