Menu Monday

Simplicity. With all of the craziness of welcoming Miss Cecily into our family, simplicity is what I’m craving at the moment. I’m trying to create some semblance of a “system” (whatever on earth that means with three children under four!), planning things in advance and streamlining our activities as much as I can to make things as easy as possible.

That being said, I have decided to close shop on my other blog, All the Trimmings, and just post everything – be it family, crafting, or cooking related – over here. One place to keep up with is enough! I am going to work on moving the recipes from that blog over here and organizing them in some way, so stay tuned.

I have been horrible since this summer about posting our menu plans like I had been doing consistently before, but I am going to try to get back on the wagon. I am really looking forward to this week’s spread. After being so sick for so long and not wanting much of anything to do with food for the lion’s share of the last few weeks, I was ready for something tasty to look forward to!

Monday – Slow-cooked pork soft tacos and black beans (a new recipe)
Tuesday – Broccoli, gruyere, and caramelized onion quiche with spinach salad
Wednesday – Lamb ragu with mint over rigatoni (another new recipe)
Thursday – Pork leftovers
Friday – Beef with sun-dried tomatoes and gnocchi (yet another new recipe)
Saturday – TBD
Sunday – Leftovers

In other news, Halloween was terrific. Both of the big kiddos looked adorable in their costumes, and they made out like bandits in the trick-or-treating department. Cecily was a little less enthused about going door to door for candy, so she stayed in and helped me hand out candy. :) I actually bought a new camera yesterday, and I’m still working on getting the software put on my computer so I can download the pics. As soon as I do, I’ll share.

I am happy to hear that you guys are on the mend, and some normalcy is coming back. I cannot imagine how frustrated you have been. We had the flu 2 weeks ago, and I am just now feeling more like myself, etc. I think simplifying is a great thing, and I look forward to reading more about your beautiful family!
