Creepy Halloween Bottle Decor

I really think it’s the little things that make Halloween decorating so much fun, like having a reason to display playful little trinkets and baubles to add a whimsical touch to all of my everyday displays. I recently made a fun set of creepy bottles to display on my entryway console table, and I love how they impart a Halloween sensibility in a subtly spooky way!

These came together in 15 minutes or less with the brand-new printable gold foil from Silhouette. Let me show you how!

To start, I found two print and cut Halloween labels in the Silhouette online store that were perfect for this project: one for “Ground Vampyre Fangs” and one for “Eye of Newt.” (I never cease to be amazed at how many fun things are in the Silhouette store, almost all of which are just 99 cents apiece!) Using my Silhouette software, I created a project with these labels, making sure to click the “show registration marks” option under the registration marks tab at the top of the screen.

I loaded one of my sheets of printable gold foil into my computer printer, making sure it was configured so that the image would print on the foil side of the sheet. I then clicked on the “send to Silhouette” button in my Silhouette software, and I followed all of the prompts from there, which will guide you through sending the file to your printer, and then cutting the file with your Silhouette. Make sure to click the option for the machine to detect the registration marks automatically before cutting, and adjust your machine’s settings to the printable foil medium.

Once your labels are printed and cut, place them on some decorative bottles. My bottles are oil and vinegar shakers that I found at Target, but any empty jar will do. I filled my bottles with green sprinkles for the “Ground Vampyre Fangs”…

and miniature marshmallows for the “Eye of Newt.”

This is my oldest son’s favorite Halloween project yet. :)

Ooooo – so fun! I wish I had a Silhouette. I bought up a whole bunch of antique bottles to do this with, but I haven’t found the motivation to create the labels. Wish I had an EASY button. :) I love the effect of the gold foil!!
