Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout November and December, I’ve invited some of my favorite blogging friends to stop by Positively Splendid to share some of their best holiday ideas in the third annual Swell Noël series. You can stay up-to-date on all of the fantastic ideas shared throughout the series by following the Swell Noël 2013 Pinterest board, and also by following the #SwellNoel hashtag on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram. Bev from Flamingo Toes is here today to share a truly darling Christmas embroidery hoop art idea!
Hello Positively Splendid Readers! I am so excited to be here for Amy’s Swell Noel series!
My name is Bev and I blog over at Flamingo Toes.
I love sharing all sorts of projects at Flamingo Toes – jewelry, sewing, home décor and recipes! I’m on an embroidery kick right now and I’m loving making all sorts of fun hoop art. I have a sweet Embroidery Hoop Art for you today – for your tree or just as a sweet little decoration! It’s my Merry Kisses Mistletoe Hoop Art!
It just has a little bit of embroidery – and the stitch is perfect for a beginner. Everything else is no-sew so this is super easy to put together!
I was inspired by a Christmas card at Paper source that I fell in love with. It would be super cute on your tree of course but I think I’m going to hang mine in a doorway – the better to sneak a few Christmas smooches!
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
• 5″ Embroidery Hoop
• Linen or other base fabric
• Felt pieces – for mistletoe, berries and bow. (2 shades of green and red)
• red embroidery floss
• disappearing ink marker
