“World’s Best Daddy” Keepsake Book + Free Printables

June 8, 2012 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

The best dads are a precious commodity.

They wipe noses and bottoms.
They play catch until their arms are like Jello.
They tell their little ones every day how much they are loved and cherished so they never doubt it for a minute.

With all of that under their belt, I believe every daddy out there deserves to win an award this Fathers’ Day, so I decided to make some fun printables for that very purpose!

Use my free “World’s Best Daddy” keepsake book kits to make memory books along with your children for the special dads in your life!

To make a keepsake book, choose and download one of the keepsake book kit printables (available below). Using your computer and printer, print off the first page of the printable set (these circles will be the front and back covers of your book) onto white cardstock along with a copy of the second page for each child. (These circles will account for the inner pages of your book.) When everything is printed, use scissors to cut out each circle (this is a great exercise for kiddos to keep up their dexterity that can sometimes be lost over the summer).

Now, give each child two of the circles. One circle can be used to write a sentence telling just why he or she thinks his or her dad/daddy/grandpa/etc. is the best and the other can be used to draw a picture with colored pencils, markers or crayons to illustrate that reason. Be sure to include the child’s name and age with their respective pages so that you never forget!

To assemble your book, add a piece of folded ribbon with hot glue to the back of the front cover piece, if desired.

Then, punch a hole through the top of each piece and thread a book binding ring through to bind them together.

After filling the book with your children’s precious artwork and thoughts, finish with a sentiment written on the back cover to commemorate the recipient and date.

These books make such meaningful, memorable gifts, and I love the fact that the ready-made printable kits make this entirely doable in the span of an hour or so, making this a perfect project for even the youngest participants!

To download any of the keepsake book kits, click on the arrow at the bottom right-hand side of the box of your choosing.

For those who would rather make a Fathers’ Day photo collage like I made last year, I’ve also created full-sized “World’s Best” printables.

Check out my Fathers’ Day Photo Collage post for the full scoop on how to use these printables and precious photos of your children to make an unforgettable gift like the one pictured above in Picasa. To download the full-sized printables, choose the one you like from the options below.

I love to accommodate the needs of my readers as much as possible, so if you need a name that isn’t included in the available printables, feel free to contact me and I’ll see what I can whip up for you. 🙂
If you are wanting to make a version of this project for the moms in your life, check out the collection of printables I made for Mothers’ Day.
Please remember that these files are for personal use only. You can use them to make as many gifts as you desire, but please don’t make anything for profit. Thank you!

Happy Friday, everyone!

I was looking for a simple Father’s Day project for my girls. I love these books!! I was trying to figure out how to put a different name on one & I saw that you might be willing to help me with that. My dad has a unique grandpa name… Deda. I’d love it to have that on it. Thanks if you can help!
