One of my favorite things about blogging is the opportunity to connect with my readers, and I am over-the-moon excited today to invite all of you to venture over to the Home Depot on August 15 to create with me during their Pinterest-inspired chore chart Do-it-Herself Workshop!

I posted last month about teaming up with Home Depot and Martha Stewart to get in back-to-school mode with a new family chore chart during DIH Workshops set to take place at Home Depots nationwide on August 15. For those of you in the Austin area, I am so excited to be co-leading the workshop at the Round Rock, Texas Home Depot location that evening, where we’ll be creating a fantastic new chore chart together just like the one below!

For those interested in creating along with me, consider the details below to be your official VIP invite!

What: Create a Pinterest-Inspired Chore Chart with Amy of Positively Splendid at The Home Depot DIH Workshop!
Where: The Home Depot Store #504, 2551 South I-35, Round Rock, Texas 78664
When: August 15 from 6:30-8:00 PM
RSVP: Register online to reserve your spot at the workshop by visiting the DIH Workshop Registration Page

During the workshop, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Pinterest tips, plus my best advice for maintaining harmony and organization in your home by using a chore chart system for children of all ages. Rumor has it, there will be tons of fun giveaways for those in attendance, including some stylish polka-dotted totes and plenty of tools and supplies to keep you DIY’ing in style!

I’ll look forward to seeing all of my Austin-area friends next Thursday for what promises to be a fun evening of creating together!

So disappointed that I don’t live in Texas so I could win some tools. Best of luck!

Oh, this sounds so great! My daughter has AHG registration that night at the exact time. I will definitely try to come to others if you have more like this!

I am soooo disappointed that I saw this talked up all over pinterest, Facebook, and various craft blogs and didnt actually get to make 1. I registered in advance and was under the assumption we would all get to make 1. When I attended our Home Depot in North Spokane Washington I was informed it was just a demo and that we would not be allowed to make the craft. Then the instructor handed out instructions for the craft that were A. Incomplete, B. No supply List, and C. Were the instructors copy that clearly stated she was supposed have enough kits for everyone, allow certain amounts of time for each participant to do each step, and said to instruct the participants that if her store did not allow spray painting in the store that the participant could paint it at home. The instructors assistant sat in a garden chair next to her texting on her phone all night when she wasnt yawning and only participated minimally. The instructor was very nice but very soft spoken. I heard about 1 word in 20 the whole time. Needless to say there were 12 very angry women there at the end that stayed long enough to watch the whole demonstration. Several walked in and left. There were no giveaways other than a tiny polka dot home depot, I think, coin purse. Certainly not big enough to call a “tote.” To add insult to injury they kept telling us what isle all the needed supplies were one as if we were expected to go around the store afterward and buy all the materials to make this ourselves. 1 friend said she would never make it because she did not want to buy a whole package of carpet nails just to use 3 of them and she did not have the sander and needed tools at home to make the project. As far as Spokane Washington goes it was an Epic Fail on the part of Home Depot.

Wish we were in Texas too. Sounds like it would have been a much better time than we had here in Spokane, Washington.
