With November and Thanksgiving just around the corner, plan to wow your dinner guests with delicious, creative desserts. Today, I’m sharing my absolute favorite whipped cream recipe that is the perfect accompaniment to just about any fall dessert, plus some pretty Thanksgiving dessert toppers to help make a pretty presentation a snap!
Thanksgiving truly is one of my favorite days of the year. I feel like in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it is a time when we are all encouraged to slow down and enjoy the company of those we love most. Some of my fondest Thanksgiving memories as a child are of our meal winding down, the adults sipping cups of coffee and visiting about any number of topics as we all enjoyed the delicious confections my mom and grandmothers had prepared for dessert.
The yummy seasonal flavors available through December from Coffee-mate would be the perfect addition to any Thanksgiving dessert course. With flavors like Pumpkin Spice and Spiced Latte, plus Eggnog Latte, Peppermint Mocha and Dark Chocolate Fudge (yum!), these delicious creamers are obviously perfect paired with a tall cup of coffee, but they are also delicious when incorporated into any number of desserts. Coffee-mate has a delicious lineup of seasonal recipes available on their site. My personal favorite are the individual swirled pumpkin cheesecakes, which I prepared today to go along with my to-die-for whipped vanilla-spice whipped cream recipe, made using one of my favorite of the 25 flavors available from Coffee-mate, Cinnamon Vanilla Creme.
Vanilla-Spice Whipped Cream
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon Cinnamon Vanilla Creme Coffee-mate
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a chilled bowl. Beat at high speed until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes. Serve as a topping on your favorite fall dessert.

My favorite Thanksgiving memory was going to my grandmother’s home for dinner and then visiting with my cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Mom and the Aunts in the kitchen, gossiiping and cooking. The men in the backyard talking football. Cousins running around, fighting, laughing and playing. So Thankful for my wonderful family.
Every year, my mom & I forego an after turkey nap and hit whatever stores are open for a little girl time and retail therapy. We always end up at drug stores and big box stores, but it is one of my favorite Thanksgiving memories!
I remember many happy gatherings with family. Thanksgiving was always held at the same Aunt and Uncle’s house year after year. It was spent with my mother’s family. Aunts, uncles and cousins. We ate plenty and then the men and boys would watch the games on tv. It was the best times that I remember.
Unfortunately, people die or move away and now its just me and my husband. Its kind of sad, but we enjoy each other’s comapny.
Any Thanksgiving with the family. There were 6 siblings and our children made for a full house at Mom and Dads house.. So much to be thankful for because now everyone has moved on, different states, etc. My parents are now deceased but no one can take those memories away.
My favorite Thanksgiving memory is when my parents and my sister visited from Japan and France.
My favorite Thanksgiving memory is when we had two families join us at our house. There was a total of 8 kids under the age of 10 and 8 adults (my parents were there). We had so much fun eating and then playing games all afternoon. It was so much fun.
I love going to the NYC Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and coming home to a turkey dinner!
All the ladies hanging out in the kitchen talking and preparing awesome food! And all the guys and kiddos playing football outside on the nice weather years!
My two favorite memories….
One Thanksgiving we announced we were pregnant to my entire family right before we snapped the Thanksgiving family picture…so, it captured everyone’s faces!
Other memory is that when we were little, after my dad carved the turkey, we were so excited to get to “wish” on the wishbone!

My first thanksgiving with my husband and his family. We each go around the table and got to say what we were thankful for.
I forget why, but one year my mom made Lasagna on Thanksgiving instead of the traditional dinner, then we went bowling. It was so much fun, we did that for several years.
Coming from a large family and being the oldest of all the cousins, I always wanted to join the adults at the grown-up table. My Grandmother always set such a beautiful table decorated with flowers and laid out with her china and silver. The kid’s table had placemats colored by grandkids, paper plates and assorted character cups. At each holiday meal, I wanted more than anything to leave the kid’s table and join the real conversations. One Thanksgiving when I was 17 my Grandmother invited me to eat at the adult table. At first, I was so excited! Soon after I was seated between my mother and grandmother, it turned to dread. I spent the entire meal scared to death that I might chip Grandma’s china! Grandma’s china and her wonderful family meals still hold a special place in my heart. Her precious china now graces my table at Thanksgiving while my nieces and nephews wait for their day to join us at the grown up table.
My husband and I moved from Minnesota to Colorado a year and a half ago. My parents, but most of all my mom, miss us terribly. Last Thanksgiving, I convinced my mom that I just couldn’t make it home for the holidays. Everyone but her knew that I was actually flying home Thanksgiving morning and hiding upstairs at my sister’s house. When it came time to sit down for dinner, my sisters, Mom and Dad called me to wish me a happy Thanksgiving. As we spoke, I came downstairs and came face-to-face with my family. The look on my Mom’s face and the tears in my Dad’s eyes was my best Thanksgiving memory. 🙂 I’m going to have a hard time convincing her that I’m actually staying in Colorado this year!
I remember Mom calling each of her children and asking us what item we’d like to bring to Thanksgiving dinnner. She always prepared the turkey and she used her best china and silverware for us.
My favorite memory of Thanksgiving was after my mom and dad had passed away and my husband and I purchased the home I grew up from my brothers. I had everyone home. I started a new tradition. It was different but a blessing.

My favorite Thanksgiving memory is my husband getting up early in the morning to grill our turkey outside in the Chicago cold weather. You never know what the weather will be but he always grills our turkey each year. The family loves it!
