A sweet treat for your weekend

I love to bake. And anything I can bake that only necessitates dirtying up a single bowl, yet turns out the most delectable, decadent treat you can imagine, is nothing short of culinary rapture for me. These brownies are just that. I have been making the good ol’ Baker’s Chocolate brownie recipe for many years, so when I came across a recipe in Southern Living last year that was essentially the same recipe with the addition of some brown sugar, it took me about a millisecond to grab my beloved batter bowl and a spatula to set to work on preparing a batch. There is, my friends, no turning back once you’ve had these brownies. They are perfect: rich, fudgy little squares of happiness. The brown sugar addition lends a certain depth of flavor that granulated sugar alone cannot. Try them this weekend, and rest assured you won’t be disappointed!

Brown sugar in brownies? I have never seen that before. And because I have never seen it, I have never had the pleasure of tasting it. I must now make these in order to test for myself. ๐Ÿ˜€ Hopping over from Holly’s!
