Where does the time go?

November 8, 2009 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

After another week and another trip to the doctor (my kidney infection appeared to be rearing its ugly head once again, so I am now taking another round of antibiotics and have been scheduled for a CT next Thursday to rule out the presence of any stones), I have to sit back and wonder how on earth it is a hair’s breadth from what can be called mid-November. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and then Jack’s birthday, and then Christmas… So much to look forward to, and so much to get done. I have big plans to make many of the gifts for friends and family again this year, and it dawned on me during one of Cecily’s wee-hour nursing sessions last night that I had better get busy! I haven’t sat down at my scrapbooking table or in front of my sewing machine in too long to remember, so the idea of having some crafting time is very exciting! Now I just have to hope the children will cooperate…

Speaking of craftsy stuff… I never did share the picture of the outfit Mom and I created for Charlotte as a team effort. I started on this little top many, many moons ago, but it took Mom and her sewing expertise to finish it all up (read: I couldn’t figure out what the heck I was doing once I got to the end!) and make the adorable ruffled pants to match. Isn’t Charlotte an adorable little model?

Cecily is two months old today. Incredible! She decided to celebrate by sleeping through the night for the first time last night – 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. This child is amazing! She is growing so quickly that I am about to have to transition her into 6-month clothes. I can’t wait to see her “stats” at her appointment next week. She is holding her head up well now when she is on her tummy. On Friday, I took all three to an indoor play area in Maumelle where the older two could run and play to their hearts’ content, and Little Bit uttered nary a peep for the entire outing, content to be in her carrier and listen to the delighted squeals of the kiddos playing around her. She has such a sweet, complacent personality, and she honestly seems to find comfort in the hustle and bustle of being surrounded by her older sibs. Thank goodness! 🙂

I love this series of photos. Isn’t it amazing how far they come in just a matter of weeks?

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone!

A.
