December 16, 2015 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

Baked goods are such fun (and sweet) gifts to give, but they’re difficult to ship to family and friends that aren’t close by. Repurpose what you might have at home to create this decorative cardboard cookie canister to store and ship your holiday goodies for all your loved ones to enjoy this holiday season!

This post is brought to you by Scotch brand. All opinions are entirely my own.

For this project, you will need…

  • 1 empty cardboard chip canister
  • 1 sheet of decorative scrapbook paper
  • Dry cloth
  • Decorative shipping label
  • Black pen
  • Tissue paper
  • Cookies
  • Scotch™ Designer Student Scissors
  • Scotch® Double Sided Tape Dispensered Rolls
  • Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape in Black Stripe, Pine Trees and Candy Stripe
  • Scotch® Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser

Note: Follow all Scotch™ Brand package instructions for proper application and approved surfaces.

Wipe the empty cardboard chip canister clean with a dry cloth. Using Scotch™ Designer Student Scissors, cut the sheet of scrapbook paper to fit the length of the canister.

Using Scotch® Double Sided Tape, adhere the scrapbook paper around the cardboard chip canister. Cut a circle from the remaining scrapbook paper to fit the canister’s lid and adhere it with double-sided tape.

Add a strip of Scotch® Expressions Washi Tape in Black Stripe around the top and bottom circumference of the canister.  Repeat and add strips of expressions washi tape in Pine Trees and Candy Stripe to your liking.

Using a black pen, write the mailing information on the shipping label. Use Scotch® Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape to adhere the label to the front of the canister.

Cut a small section of tissue paper and crinkle it loosely to form a ball.  Place it at the bottom of the canister and then stack the cookies until the top cookie is approximately half an inch from the top of the canister.  Create another ball of tissue paper and place it on top of the cookie stack.  Snap the canister lid in place.

Wrap the lid and edge of the canister using the heavy duty shipping packaging tape, ensuring the tape covers the entire circumference and is secure for shipping!
