I {Heart} Instagram!

May 2, 2012 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

Y’all are going to have to bear with me here, because I am a bit like a kid in a candy store today. You see, I traded in my old relic of a cell phone yesterday for one of these…

Wheee!!!

Of course, new technology means a whole new world to learn and navigate, and I have to say that so far, my absolute favorite part of all has been Instagram. Are you familiar with Instagram? It’s a free app that allows you to snap pictures using your smart phone and then edit them using all sorts of fun filters before sharing them on all of your favorite social networks. In a word, it is fabulous!

Photos I’ve taken so far:

:: Morning coffee ::

::Impromptu lunch tea party with my girls today::

To make everything even more fun, there is a monthly photo-a-day challenge conceived of by Fat Mum Slim that challenges you to take a photo each day revolving around a set of themes.

Chantelle provides the details here for exactly how the challenge works.

I am going to take part this month, and I’d love for you to join me!
What a creative, fun way to document everyday life in a fresh, meaningful way.

My first photo, which had to do with the word peace, was this snapshot from yesterday afternoon. Any mama knows that nothing conveys peace more than no lights flashing on a baby monitor! 🙂

Also…if you already kept up with the April monthly challenge, my sweet friend Kellie over at Nest of Posies is hosting an April #photoaday linkup starting this Friday. You should head over to share your recap from last month!

    I knew you would figure out your phone before me! I’ve downloaded the app, but still haven’t had time to figure out how to use it. LoL!

    No I-phone here but is it pitiful that I am considering it solely for the camera and Instagram possibilities?
