More Nursery Planning + Pinterest Love

June 17, 2011 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

If you follow on Facebook and/or Twitter, you’ve seen me share that this week my home has been invaded by contractors turning our loft bonus into a room for Baby Cuatro. I am so thrilled that so much progress has been made! At almost 25 weeks along, I am clamoring to get started making that little space as cozy and inviting as possible. I’ve been a pinning fool, adding new ideas right and left to my Pinterest board dedicated entirely to Cuatro’s nursery. Want to see a few of my latest additions?

This will be my first-ever endeavor to sew crib bedding, and I am really excited about it! I came across this bumper tutorial on Sew4Home, and I was immediately smitten.

I think I’m going to give this ruffled crib skirt concept a try. (I see my serger being a handy dandy helper in that effort.)

These fabric book slings might very well be making an appearance, as well!

I was *this close* to pulling the trigger on placing my fabric order yesterday. I am about 100% certain that these fabrics will be the ones. It was a bit challenging coming up with colors that will be equally appropriate for a boy or a girl since we won’t know until delivery day what s/he is, but I have had fun with it!

Brace yourselves, friends: you might be tempted to don sunglasses when you see the color palette I’m using. 😉

And, in case that isn’t enough of a color charge, I think I might ground everything with this fun zebra rug.

I have to say that I have loved using Pinterest to keep all of my ideas in order.
I seriously puffy heart LOVE Pinterest. Have you tried it out yet? It is essentially an online pinboard where you can share the projects and ideas that catch your eye on the internet. There are so many fun features available on it (I was able to embed each of the photos above using html code provided through the site, for instance), and each and every time I log on, I am absolutely delighted to see the pretties my Pin-friends have posted. Pinterest is much like Facebook or Twitter, in that you can follow other Pinterest users to see what inspiration they have to share.
Beth from Home Stories A to Z recently posted a fabulous Pinterest video tutorial on her blog to give you more of an idea of the nitty-gritty of how it all works.
If you do venture over (or if you’re already as addicted as I am ;), I would love to connect! You can head over to see my boards, and I have also placed a Pinterest link on my sidebar to make it super easy to find me.
Happy Friday!
