Made by Mama Reita

During college, my mom was a bit of a celebrity among my sorority sisters. Mama Reita’s care packages would arrive from 1000 miles away brimming with everything from notes of encouragement to clothes to tasty treats. During a particularly stressful time, Mom even took the painstaking trouble to overnight me my favorite rum cake (a recipe I really must share here at some point). I will never forget that box sitting in the foyer of my sorority house when I arrived home from class that day. My friends and I were giddy as we tore it open and sifted through the mounds of packing peanuts to find the delectable gem hidden inside. Mom was even thoughtful enough to send paper plates and napkins, so we were able to dig in at once. 🙂

These days, packages still arrive on my doorstep sent with love by Mama Reita, but they are delivered into the delighted hands of my sweet children, who are always clamoring to see the latest of their Mammo’s creations!

Just in time for Turkey Day, Mom has once again outdone herself with the darling jumpers she put together for my girls. With this adorable Turkey Ribbon Looped Applique she purchased from DigiStitches (if you are an embroidery enthusiast and you haven’t yet ventured to her site, you really must go right this moment!) and the impeccable A-Line Tops and Dresses pattern by the Scientific Seamstress, she created truly portrait-worthy outfits that make my heart happy!

Wouldn’t this applique also be perfect on a little t-shirt, a bib, or a burp cloth?

Remember the darling Halloween dresses the girls wore during our outing to the pumpkin patch? They were very similar to this jumper here.

Mom created this adorable swing coat for Charlotte using this little pattern from Whimsy Couture. The rose here is made using Kari Mecca’s Whimsy Sticks, which Mama Reita says are tons of fun to use.

Too stinkin’ cute, right?

You must see the matching Christmas tree jumpers she made for the girls this week. These things are so cute, they about make my heart hurt. I can’t wait for C & C to wear them!

Want me to let you in on a little secret? Mom’s lovely creations are available by custom order through her   River Road Creations boutique.

Available to ship right this instant are the sassy zebra swing coat shown above (size 4T), and also the Christmas tree jumper (size 2T). Interested in buying either of these items, or wanting to know more about placing a custom order? Contact Reita at RiverRoadCreations (at) gmail (dot) com for pricing and sizes.

Prepare to be giddy when a package from Mama Reita arrives on your doorstep! 🙂

I love you, Mom!

Yay Mama Reita! I was just thinking how I need her to “adopt” me – now I just need to budget appropriately. 🙂

Can she also send me some food??

Too adorable!! Your mom rocks. My mother is very crafty, too, and what I wouldn’t give for her to start an Etsy shop!!
