Valentine's Day

I recently found a site that was selling casette cases that held little storage devices so you could make a mixed “tape” on the 21st century. I would love to make one for my husband. Quite a few songs bring a smile to our face.
Who is that girl? would be my song, by Christina Aguilara. For my parents 40th Anniversary my brother made a dvd for my parents starting with each of them as a child then, went on to the first child (me) for each scene there was a different song, mine was “Who is that girl?)Because I’m a daughter, sister, friend, wife and mother most of all. This made me cry. I too have many songs, that remind me of different times of my life. There are certain songs that remind me of each of my children, my husband… I love music & musical’s. My mother brought us up on musical’s. Last yr. when I was feeling down, I asked my family & friends what made them happy & all my siblings said watch a musical. That’s what made them happy. So I watched “It’s a White Christmas” and yes, it made me happy. Thank you for posting this story. I think I’m going to have my children watch a musical with me

Amy-I’ve been reading your blog for quite some time now and I have to say…..this is my FAVORITE post (and that’s saying a lot because I love sewing, crafts, etc.). If I told you that reading this made me cry would you guess that music has the EXACT effect on me? Like you, it’s been that way since I was a little girl. To this day I associate almost every memory with what songs were popular and what clothes I wore at the time
So I’m totally dating myself with this one but here goes…..I’m about 3 years old, on a “Sunday drive” with my family in our Grand Torino. Windows down, crammed in the back seat with my other siblings (no seat belt wearing back then-yikes!), all of us singing at the top of our lungs to our 8-track tape…”Shake shake shake. Shake shake shake. Shake your booty!” I remember thinking to myself, “This is a really happy time with my family.”
I do this thing for people I love called “Songs of Life”. Maybe one of these weeks I’ll enter it into the Saturday link party
.
Keep up the good work. I love your blog.
