Candy-Filled Pumpkin Treats and Bewitching Cupcake Toppers

September 6, 2011 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

So there are a few times when I get goodies in the mail that literally make me squeal with delight. When a sweet little package from Lifestyle Crafts arrived in my mailbox a few weeks back, that was one of those times. Inside was a plethora of Halloween goodies that made this crafty girl’s heart go pitter pat!

Today marks the release of the Be Spooked. Be Stuffed. holiday release on the Lifestyle Crafts site. These dies are seriously darling, y’all. Every single one of them! With shapes ranging from cute little ghosts and bats to adorable pilgrim hats, you’ll be covered all fall long!

Today I’m going to share with you a couple of quick and easy Halloween project ideas that I created with my dies.
Candy-Filled Paper Pumpkin Treats
If you’ve got Halloween parties in your future, these would make the perfect favors! To get to the candy, little hands can simply tear right in.
For this project, you will need…
Lifestyle Crafts Epic die cutting tool
Tag Die
Cat Die
Spider from Web Die
Nesting Ghosts Die
Cardstock in an assortment of Halloween colors
Glue
Orange paper napkins (or orange crepe paper)
Tissue paper
6-inch circle template
Scissors
Halloween candy
Floral tape
Bow-making wire (or ribbon)
step 1 / Cut out your dies using your Epic machine, and glue them together. Set the assembled shapes aside for now.
step 2 / Use your circle template (or, in my case, a bowl) to trace circles onto your napkins and tissue paper. You will need one napkin circle and one tissue circle for each pumpkin. Cut your circles out. Place one of your napkin circles face down on your work surface, and place a tissue paper napkin on top. Place a handful of candy at the center of your circles. Pinch to bring all of the sides up around the candy, as shown, to create your pumpkin shape. Twist slightly to secure.
step 3 / Secure the twisted portion of your pumpkin with floral tape, as shown. Tie a piece of your bow making wire around this floral tape “stem,” and secure your finished tag to your pumpkin using the wire. All finished!
Bewitching Cupcake Toppers
For this project, you will need…
Lifestyle Crafts Epic die cutting tool
Witch Kit Die
Nesting Lace Circles Die
Cardstock in an assortment of Halloween colors
Glue
Hot glue
Lollipop sticks
Follow step one above by cutting your dies and gluing them together. You will need a pair of witch legs for each cupcake topper. Adhere each finished set of legs to one of your lace circles. Use hot glue to adhere a lollipop stick to the back of your topper, making sure the stick is situated so the legs will be upside down when the topper is inserted in your cupcake. Simple enough!
I fell in love with this die the moment I saw it, and I knew it would be perfect for this very purpose!

If any of these dies have caught your eye, don’t forget to use SPLENDID at checkout on the Lifestyle Crafts site to receive a 20% discount!

I love the witches’ legs…so cute. The pumpkins would be the perfect party favors for my girls’ Halloween parties at preschool/kindergarten. 🙂

Amy!!! So, so cute! Those pumpkins! I’m dying over those. What a great idea. I didn’t get witches legs in mine. It’s so fun to see what you did with those. They’re darling! Take care, cute girl!
