This polka-dotted Easter mason jar is an adorable way to package up a chocolate bunny in style, and free printable jar topper tags make this fun Easter craft project super simple to whip up!

Mason jar crafts are so fun to make for the different seasons! My carrot Easter mason jar from last year was so fun to make, I decided to take another spin on an Easter mason jar this year, this time making cute polka-dotted jars with a window for peeking through to find a yummy chocolate bunny inside! This is such a fun way to package up Easter treats for someone special, and I’m sharing how to make the jars, plus free printable tags to put on top of the jars for a personalized touch. Let’s get started!

Polka-Dotted Easter Mason Jar Supplies

  • Wide-mouthed quart mason jar
  • Contact paper
  • Scissors
  • Pen
  • FolkArt Home Decor Chalk Paint
  • Paint brush
  • Craft knife
  • Round foam pouncer
  • Wrapped chocolate bunny
  • Easter grass
  • Twine or ribbon
  • Adhesive roller
  • White cardstock

Cut a piece of contact paper that is 3.5×4.5″, using scissors to round off the top edges, as shown. Affix the contact paper piece to the front of the jar.

Use the paint brush to apply the paint to the entire surface of the jar. Apply 2-3 coats for even coverage, allowing the paint to dry for at least 15 minutes between coats. I love using chalk paint for mason jar projects like this one, and it adheres to the glass surface so beautifully and evenly!

(It’s okay if the top rim of the jar isn’t painted evenly, as this will be hidden under the jar lid in the finished project.) Set the jar aside so that the paint has time to try completely, at least 1 hour.

Carefully remove the contact paper from the jar. Use a craft knife to carefully scrape away any paint that has seeped under the edge if necessary.

Use the round foam pouncer and a contrasting paint color to paint polka dots on the surface of the jar. Allow the dots to dry completely.

While the paint dries, print off the jar topper tags onto white cardstock. The tags are sized to fit precisely within the lid insert of a wide-mouthed quart size lid. Trim around the edges of the tags, and use an adhesive roller to affix a tag to each lid insert.

When the paint on the jar is dry, place some Easter grass into the bottom of the jar, and nestle the chocolate bunny on top of the grass. Place the lid insert into the lid outer ring, and screw the lid onto the jar. Finish with a piece of decorative ribbon or twine, if desired.

These adorable Easter mason jars would be perfect for adding to an Easter basket, or for giving on their own to friends, teachers and more!

I just love the polka dots! The foam circle pouncers make creating the dots so easy and precise!

The printable tags can be used as an insert on a mason jar, or they can be used on their own in other Easter projects by punching a hole through the top and tying on with ribbon or twine. There are lots of fun options here!
