I love finding candy-free Valentine’s Day ideas for my kids to hand out to friends at school! Today I’m sharing a super cute idea for making kits filled with supplies for kids to make their very own bracelet, including plenty of bead “gems” and a free printable bag topper. I love this this is a creative valentine card classroom treat idea that allows kids to add some imagination to their Valentine’s Day celebrations! Read on for the full how-to for how these valentine card bracelet kits come together.

For these valentine card bracelet kits, you will need…

  • “You’re a Gem” Valentine Bag Toppers << Click link for FREE download

  • White cardstock
  • 3×4.75″ cellophane treat bags
  • Assorted pony beads
  • Heart pony beads
  • White elastic cord
  • Scissors

To begin, download the PDF bag toppers onto your computer, and use your printer to print the bag toppers onto white cardstock. Cut each one out with a paper trimmer or scissors, repeating as many times as needed for the desired number of finished bags.

Fill the treat bags with a handful of assorted beads. Add an 8-inch length of the elastic cord to each bag.

Fold the top edge of each bag under by about 1 inch. Slip one of the folded toppers over the folded edge, and staple along each outside edge to secure.

I love that these valentines are not only unique and incredibly affordable, but they also allow kids to be creative and show their personal flair!

To make a bracelet from the kit, simply slip the beads onto the elastic cord, and then tie in a knot to secure. (Children might need to trim away a bit of the cording for a proper fit.)

I hope you’re inspired to think outside of the (candy) box this year when it comes to Valentine’s Day goodies!
