By the Dozen: New Year’s Eve Ideas

December 26, 2011 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

The day after Christmas is always a little bit of a bummer, with all of the presents unwrapped and the festivities past. So what’s a girl to do? Start planning for New Year’s Eve! 🙂

I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite quick-and-easy ideas for New Year’s festivities. Many, if not all, of these are perfect even for the littlest party-goers!

one. New Year’s Eve Photo Props @ Infarrantly Creative via Brassy Apple

How fun would it be to set up a photo booth with these guys on the big night?

two. Cookie Midnight Snack @ Simply Creative Insanity

What a simple, yet fun idea: package up a treat in a CD sleeve for guests to take home as a favor after the party has come to a close!

three. New Year Subway Art @ Eighteen25

Doll up your decor with this fantastic printable! Love this color scheme.

four. Confetti Packets @ Fiskars

What a brilliant idea: easily stitch these little package to house your confetti to scatter when the ball drops!

five. Photo Confetti @ Martha Stewart

Speaking of confetti: I love this idea to create personalized photo confetti. Your guests (or kiddos) will love this!

six. New Year’s Eve Goodie Bags @ Hoosier Homemade

Each year, Liz fills up bags to open with each new hour on the big night. What a fun idea to keep little ones excited about the festivities!

seven. Noisemaker Shakers @ Family Fun

A fun craft project made from old ribbon spools that doubles as a noisemaker to help ring in 2012. Fun!

eight. New Year’s Eve Kits @ Tatertots and Jello via The 36th Avenue

I adore Desiree’s idea to make 2012 journals for these packages to document special memories in the upcoming year!

nine. Confetti Eggs @ Nest of Posies

I am seriously smitten with this idea to make sweet little confetti vessels out of emptied-out eggshells!

ten. Tinsel Number Banner @ Martha Stewart

Before you pack up the Christmas decorations, let your tinsel shine a little longer by making a number banner. So pretty!

eleven. Balloon Activity Countdown @ How Does She?

Fill balloons with pieces of paper with fun activities to enjoy each hour on the big night. Love this!

twelve. Party Hat Snack Mix @ Makoodle

These little party hats made from Bugles would be the perfect nosh for any New Year’s Eve party!

Do you have any New Year’s Eve traditions?

Nice round-up, Amy! I wish I could say we did something exciting for New Years, but the reality is that I will probably stay up just long enough to see the ball drop and then go to bed. 😉 I like to dream about doing something glamorous though!

Awesome ideas! My tradition is to make fondue, watch Audrey Hepburn movies and switch the tv over right before the ball drops in Times Square.
