Computer savvy

This boy. I tell you, he is really something! I need to watch it, or he is going to surpass me completely in the depth of his computer knowledge. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Recently, it dawned on me that he really needed more experience negotiating computer tasks completely on his own, so I [insert huge gulp here] have been relinquishing control of my laptop for little bursts of time here and there for him to cruise certain educational websites that he absolutely loves. I was floored at how well he did from the very beginning, and it has been really terrific to see how much he’s learning through his time online!

If you’re looking for an educational website for preschoolers, you need not look any further than Starfall.com.ย The content on this site is extensive enough to accomodate the needs of children just learning their letters to those with a solid reading knowledge base. It is fantastic! Jack loves that he is able to easily navigate through the site on its own because of the way the content guides you from one screen to the next, and I love that he has such a marvelous time engaged in constructive “play.” It is truly a win/win!

Do you and your kiddos have any favorite places to visit on the web? If so, I’d love to hear so we can add them to our list!

    We absolutely adore Starfall!

We have also recently discovered the Jumpstart programs – they are educational and our kids are absolutely LOVING them.

We love Starfall, too. A new favorite at our house is Primary Games.

This sounds fun. I haven’t heard of it before. I will have to have my little guy try it out! It amazes me how smart they are using DVD players, computers, etc.

We won a membership to Zoodles and have used it on and off…my son (8.5) just wants to play cartoon network games…ugh!

I was telling my son how my whole school only had one computer (for the kids) when I was in middle school and it actually belonged to the teacher and she would bring it on n special days…so you had to be in her class even.
