It’s in the Bag

September 9, 2010 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

With the start of school, my kiddos weren’t the only ones in need of a new bag. Between hauling everything to and from school, soccer practices, and all the errands in between, I needed a bag that essentially doubles as a control center: a snack-carrying, letter-from-school-toting, shin-guard wielding, entertaining machine. Charlotte has been battling boredom during Jack’s Tuesday night practices, and as I was thinking of a bag I could carry, I had a thought that it might be fun to incorporate an interactive game into the design of the bag using the same idea from her interchangeable flower tee. I immediately thought of the game tic-tac-toe, since I knew those pieces would work very well with the same method I used for the flowers. And thus, the idea for the Tic-Tac-Tote was born. This would also be a great bag for kiddos to carry to give them something to do as they wait at the bus-stop!

There will be a full tutorial for the process soon to come (most likely tomorrow), but I wanted to go ahead and share the photos of the finished bag, which I just wrapped up this morning, since I was too excited to wait! 🙂 Admittedly, this thing is pretty wild, but that works for me, since it isn’t as likely to get lost in the abyss that has recently become the floor of my Sienna! 🙂

Have a terrific Weekend Eve, my friends!

What a great idea! The coloring is the same as a dress that I made for my 2 year old recently. Zebra print with hot pink. Love it!
