This post is brought to you to encourage parents to create happy memories with kids and let Huggies® Wipes take care of the mess! All opinions are entirely my own.

I love to make fun treats in the kitchen with my kids, and with each holiday, I try to have an easy food craft project up my sleeve to make with them. These darling sandwich cookie spiders are incredibly easy to make with just a few simple ingredients, and they are sure to be a hit with children of all ages! These would be perfect for serving at a Halloween party, but they are quick enough to make on the fly during any chilly fall afternoon. Continue reading for all of the details for how these adorable sandwich cookie spiders come together!

To make a batch of sandwich cookie spiders, you will need…

(Note: Scroll below for a printable version of this recipe)

  • Halloween sandwich cookies
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Candy corn
  • Marshmallows (Tip: Day-old marshmallows work best for this project)
  • Black frosting

To begin, break four pretzel sticks in half to form eight individual pieces.

Insert four of the pretzel pieces on either side of one of the cookies, directly into the cream layer.

Break off just the white bottom portion of two pieces of candy corn.

Insert the white candy corn tips into the front portion of the cookie, between the two sets of legs to form silly spider fangs.

For the eyes, use a finger to press two of the marshmallows flat. (Day-old marshmallows work best for this, as they tend to hold their flattened shape more easily.)

Affix the marshmallow eyes just over the fangs on the front side of the spider using a dab of black frosting on the back of each. Add a dab of black frosting to the center of each marshmallow to make pupils for each eye.

Continue making spiders in this fashion until you have as many as desired. (If you’re anything like my kids and me, once you get started, you’ll want to make a whole passel!)

I love that these are easy enough for even toddlers to lend a hand in making, but they are a fun project for kids up through elementary school, too. I think they would be great to make together at a class party.

These would even make super cute Halloween cupcake toppers!

Each time I make a food craft project with my kids, our very favorite part is digging into our yummy creations! I love that Huggies® Wipes enable me to forget the mess and focus on the memories made when we create like this together. Huggies® Wipes are gentle on tender skin, but their triple layers make them great for cleaning up all sorts of sticky situations–including black frosting and cream-filled cookie smudges!
