Super Tuesday

This is another post brought to you by none other than the immensely talented Mama Reita (aka, my mom ;). I cannot remember another care package she has sent that has ever been more of a hit with Uno and Dos than the one she sent late last week, the contents of which included the super hero capes and masks you see here. What a fun, sweet idea to inspire imaginative play in little ones! Thanks, Mom!

(Oh, and in case you’re wondering about my son’s choice of pants…the moment he donned his cape, he knew he had to put on his Batman pajama bottoms. It’s only fitting, of course. 😉

If you’re interested to hear exactly which patterns/tutorials Mama Reita used to make the capes and masks, I’d be happy to ask her and forward that info on to you. Just let me know, either via email or in the comments here.

Miss Priss’s outfit above was another one of the goodies mom sent (along with a coordinating version for little sis, too!). Aren’t the pants absolutely darling? I cannot say enough how frustrating it is to find pants that decently fit a 3-year-old little girl. I am constantly appalled at the revealing nature of so many of the pants I find on the racks of just about every store – and especially jeans. Low-rise for a preschooler? Give me a break! If you have been dealing with the same frustrations, I highly recommend you check out the pattern Mom used for these pants, The Easy-Fit Pants, Shorts and Capris Pattern by the Scientific Seamstress. They are tailored completely to your little one’s measurements, so the fit is terrific, and both girls seem to think they’re very comfy, too!

A couple more little tidbits…

I was absolutely thrilled to see my Felted Wool Knotted Flower Scarf was selected to be in the top 10 over at the CSI Project last week for their winter challenge. If you haven’t ventured over before, those girls have a terrific thing going on, with challenges each week to inspire your creativity. I highly recommend going over to explore!

Also…

Voting is on for this week’s challenge over at SYTYC! This week is about all things cozy. I hope you’ll head over to vote for your favorite!

Capes…how could you go wrong!? CUTE! I must check out this pant thing. My little one is 3.5 and I am resorting to lots of sweat pants at the moment…she is tall but thin and the pant either fall off or are too short…and seriously do kiddos need low rise jeans!?

I love the capes! My 3 year old son is always having me tie a blanket around his neck so he can be a superhero. My mom is going to make a cape for him. Could you please send me the pattern to my email addy? [email protected] Thanks so much!
