Reader spotlight and a welcome!

June 4, 2010 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

I have truly started looking forward to Fridays each week when I get to shine the spotlight on Positively Splendid readers and their amazing creations. I never cease to stand amazed at how many marvelous ideas you all have, and how much each and every one of my readers brings to the table. I’m like a kid in a candy store exploring your places!

This week’s spotlight is shining on two blogs that embody the charm of years past, yet present ideas that are totally relevant to today’s creative maven.

Meet Lindsay from The Cottage Home
and
Malia from Yesterday on Tuesday!

The Cottage Home

When I first happened upon Lindsay’s blog through one of the Friday blog hops a couple of months back, it was a true case of love at first sight. Her place is a joy to behold, with a bright color scheme and an inviting feel that epitomizes vintage charm with a modern twist!

I am swooning over this Floral Blue & Orange Bubble Romper. Gorgeous.

And I know when Boo and Tink venture into the wide world of sleepover parties, I will be trying my hand at this Sleepover Pillowcase Tutorial. Wouldn’t these make terrific party favors for slumber party attendees? I have to say that Lindsay’s eye for combining fabrics is nothing short of amazing!

It is so hard to find fun sewing projects for boys, but Lindsay has that ground covered, as well! Any boy with a Hot Wheels obsession would love to have a Car Cozy like this one. What a darling, functional idea!

I hope you’ll take some time today to head over to The Cottage Home to peruse the rest of Lindsay’s fabulous creations!

I have had the privilege to get to know Malia through the BlogFrog communities. Her genuineness and inviting personality shine through her posts, and I never cease to be impressed with the quality of her projects! And her photography is amazing, to boot!
This Patriotic Pennant Tutorial is absolutely delightful, and this would be the perfect decor for your upcoming Independence Day festivities.

My kiddos would adore one of these clever Personalized Beach Buckets.

Malia had a giveaway running recently for something she calls the Bee Busy Bag, but which I would henceforth like to refer to as every mother’s invaluable little assistant! (In the spirit of full disclosure, I was lucky enough to be chosen as the winner – go me!) With activities galore to keep busy little hands occupied during errands, appointments or long trips in the car, I know this will be a hit with my kiddos!

Venture over to Yesterday on Tuesday to explore a bit! You’ll be so happy you did.

Thank you so very much to those of you who have asked about my son’s recovery after our horrible experience last weekend. Just yesterday, he really seemed to make marked improvement. We are so relieved!

A marvelous Friday to all!
