DIY Accessories with Styled by Tori Spelling

June 11, 2012 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

I shared a sneak peek a couple of weeks ago of the gorgeous haul of goodies I received from Darice from their Styled by Tori Spelling line of jewelry. If I was in love with these pieces when I first cracked open the box, suffice it to say I am absolutely smitten after playing and creating so many different looks with them this past weekend. What a fun, easy concept for creating affordable, stylish DIY jewelry!

What I love most about these pieces is that they require absolutely no tools to assemble. Well, unless you count the best two tools the Good Lord gave us: hands! 😉 And with four different lines to choose from – Glitz, Glam, Boho and Noir – there are styles to suit any taste!

Creating a gorgeous necklace couldn’t be any simpler:

Choose the components for your necklace: a necklace top and bottom and also some connectors and a pendant, if you really want to go for the gusto. (Which, when in doubt, always go for the gusto, I say!)

Now that your necklace elements are chosen, simply use the connectors to attach the necklace top to the necklace bottom.

Slip your pendant onto one of the connector pieces, like so…

…and after about 30 seconds of work, your necklace is complete. So, so easy!

In addition to necklaces, Styled by Tori Spelling has everything you need to also create bracelets and (my personal favorite) gorgeous dangly earrings!
The idea behind the assembly for the earrings is just as simple as the method for assembling the necklace above. Just choose some earring findings and some dangles you love, and then put them together. Voila: Instant style!
I love the ease of the out-of-the-box looks available through this line, but I also wanted to try my hand at showing that these pieces also allow you to put a personal spin on things to really suit your style.
By cutting a 1.5″ strip of scrap fabric and looping one end through one of the necklace bottoms…

…and then looping the opposite ends through the other side of the necklace bottom, like so…
…and then finishing everything off with a pretty little bow…
…I was able to create this stunning little piece that coordinates perfectly with my dangly earrings! L-O-V-E.
I also created these fun little lace flowers to showcase some of my favorite pendants from the line. These brooches would not only look fantastic as wearable accessories, but also for home decor items. Be sure to stop by tomorrow when I show you how I made them!

You can find Styled by Tori Spelling pieces at Joann and Michaels, and with prices ranging from just $3-$15, it won’t break to bank to come up with a few looks you love. Although the pieces may vary by store, I can speak from personal experience that the selection at my second home (AKA Joann) is quite extensive!

You can follow Styled by Tori Spelling on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with product information and project ideas, too.

And be sure to check out what these other talented ladies did with their Styled by Tori Spelling goodies. It is incredible how many looks can be achieved with these pieces!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I love Tori Spelling and I saw her collection at our Joanns and just so excited to try some of her pieces out. Glad to see you share how to put them all together and how easy it is! Can’t wait to get back to Joanns and grab a bunch of her pieces to make my own jewelry. Can’t wait for Craft Wars to start!!!

I just found your blog and I am so glad I did – although now I will likely spend naptime looking around your blog rather then cleaning! Oh well! Anyway, I am your newest follower 🙂
