Friday Spotlight

July 2, 2010 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

My word! This has been a hectic day. We are gearing up for a visit from my mother-in-law and the long holiday weekend, and today has been all about attempting to get the house in some semblance of order. Or, whatever “order” can be attained with three young children following in your wake. 😉
I am truly tickled pink to share today’s spotlight with you. When I first determined myself to give this blogging thing a real whirl, there was one very talented girl who took me under her wing and helped show me the ropes. I am so grateful to her for her guidance! To me, bloggers who have “made it” helping fledgling bloggers get their foot in the door is truly marvelous, and it is something I hope I can pay forward one day.
Many of y’all probably already know and love her, but in case you don’t, allow me to introduce you to
Holly at 504 Main!
First things first: Holly is an amazing writer, which is honestly what drew me into her blog at the beginning. It is so immensely important to find your authentic voice when you decide to start a blog, and Holly has not only achieved that, but she’s done it better than just about anyone else I know. She is genuine, humorous and always fun to read, and after reading her posts, I often feel as though I’ve just sat down with her for a chat over coffee. (Or, in her case, a mocha. 😉 This post about how she procured a “secret” family recipe is one I found particularly entertaining! I think you’ll like it, too.
Holly’s writing talent coupled with her penchant for wedding planning resulted in this book I am sure any girl in the midst of planning their big day would be remiss not to have in her arsenal!
She adores pink and green (her weekly link-up is called Tickled Pink, which I’m assuming is for that very reason!), and after seeing this gorgeous tablescape she helped create for a recent magazine shoot, I can understand why. I can’t even begin to wrap my mind around creating something so fabulous! Seriously!
I was truly wowed when she shared this ruffled screen wreath. I just love something that shows thinking outside the box when it comes to home decor!

And the vibrant colors in this summer medallion table make my heart sing! Don’t they yours?

This weekend, take some time to head over to visit Holly at her place and explore. She is a jewel, and her blog is, too!

Holly, feel free to grab a button to place on your blog if you wish. 🙂

Have a marvelous weekend, friends! Enjoy the holiday, and please be safe!
