Reader spotlights and a winner!

It’s Friday again! And a Friday leading into a holiday weekend, at that!

Sincerely, I would like to thank anyone who serves in our armed forces, has served in the past or has a loved one who has done so. May you know well how much we all appreciate your continued sacrifice. God bless you all!

If you’re stopping in from New Friend Friday or Follow Me Friday, welcome! I hope you find Positively Splendid an inviting and fun place to spend a bit of your day. Please let me know you popped in so I can thank you personally!

It’s been a fun week at Positively Splendid. A quick recap:
Monday gave us all a reason to dust off our bread machines to make some delectable Buttery Bread Machine Rolls…
Tuesday brought us a quick and easy placemat project to spruce up our outdoor décor…
And yesterday’s theme was all-out indulgence with a recipe for Utterly Decadent Toffee Squares.

Last week I started something I know I personally enjoyed, and I hope all of y’all did, too! Fridays I am going to turn the spotlight on you: I will feature one reader (or a few!) and the projects I absolutely love. Like I said last week, blogging can be a competitive, sometimes stressful endeavor, but it is my hope that this will make a small difference in helping us support one another and build community while we build each other up!
This week’s spotlight is shining on the talented Heather at Gerber Days!
Pink Moss
I need to thank Heather personally for all of the compliments I received on my hair this week! In brilliant fashion, she posted this video tutorial for how to do a sassy little braiding technique. I hadn’t thought of French braiding in ages, but I have to say that this grown-up version is downright chic and fun!
Heather is my kindred spirit when it comes to seeking simple and green cleaning options. I absolutely must try her liquid hand soap recipe…

And I need to hop on making some of these ingenious t-shirt cleaning rags so I can stop throwing money away (literally!) with all of the paper towels I use each day!

Heather also has a gem of a store called Heart Shaped Box. All of her creations are lovely, but I have to say I am absolutely coveting these darling little binky clips! Cecily needs one. Yes, needs. 😉

Heather’s ideas and blog are fabulous, and her sense of style spills through the screen each time I stop in for a visit. I hope y’all will stop by to say hello and check out the many fun things going on at Gerber Days!

I absolutely love to hear from readers who have used my tutorials and projects as inspiration in their own creative endeavors. This week, I was thrilled to hear from two incredibly talented ladies who made a couple of my ideas their own, and in brilliant fashion!
Isn’t this take on the Pebbles Skirt tutorial darling? Heather, a reader with a terrific eye for combining fabrics (and a very adorable model!), outdid herself with this entire ensemble. Check out her marvelous work on the coordinating reverse appliqué tee. Wow!
Brandy at Home Sweet Home made this knock-out version of the tiered terracotta planter I shared earlier this month. I absolutely adore how the white street numbers pop against that black background. Really stunning!

And now, to announce the winner of the Custom Silhouette Giveaway!
memoryminded said…
I follow your blog! And thank you for sharing the creativity found on other blogs as well. I love that you are sharing the spotlight with others

Congratulations, memoryminded!
Be on the lookout for an email from me detailing how we can get you all set up with your custom creation!
Happy Memorial Day, friends!
