Saturday Seven (No. 10)

May 7, 2011 By Amy @ Positively Splendid

FacebookTweetPinYummlyPrint

There are some terrific events going on right now throughout the blogging community, and for this week’s Saturday Seven lineup, I wanted to highlight a few of them so you can head over and check out all of the creative goodness!

If you are new to Positively Splendid, each Saturday I share a lineup of the things that have caught my eye in the blogging world over the course of the last seven days. Be it a project, a recipe, or an event (as all of the members of this lineup happen to be), if I love it, you’ll find it here!

So, let’s get right to it! Let me present to you (in no particular order) this week’s
Saturday Seven!

No. 1
Save Our Summer @ Brassy Apple

I adore the sentiment Megan shared at her place at the start of her series. “You only get 18 summer with your kids before they are gone.” Wow. What a thought to motivate you to live this summer to the utmost! Head over for a bounty of summer ideas to help you relish every moment.

No. 2
Color My Summer @ KoJo Designs & Delia Creates

Y’all know the fetish I have with a good dose of color, and coupling a vibrant palette with tons of superb ideas is my idea of creative perfection! To make things even more fun, these hostesses with the mostesses are holding a Color Your Summer contest where YOU can share you favorite colorful summer creation for a chance to win some marvelous prizes!

No. 3
Semi-Handmade Spring Wardrobe Series @ The Cottage Home

Lindsay is truly one of the most inspiring sewists in the blogging world, and this week-long series was an enormous source of practical ideas for repurposing children’s clothing that has seen better days into “new” garments that can be enjoyed for another season. I highly recommend you head over to check out each and every post!

No. 4
Creating Really Awesome Free Trips @ C.R.A.F.T.

I have been thoroughly convinced for some time that Jamie is a creative genius, and her most recent series has done nothing but confirm that! What a fun concept: tour the grand ole U S of A through the eyes of fellow bloggers who reveal their favorite things to do and see in their respective cities. The event wraps up with a link-up on May 31 where you can share your own lineup of your favorite local attractions!

No. 5
Free Pattern Month @ Grosgrain

Do you love to sew? Check. Do you love free patterns? Of course you do! Head over for some gorgeous free patterns via some immensely talented sewists. I have already bookmarked a number of the ideas shared, and the series has only just begun!

No. 6
(in a shameless act of self-promotion…)
The Summer Survival Guide @ Positively Splendid

Positively Splendid

I know the majority of you are probably already aware of the series going on right now here a PS, but just in case you’ve missed out on the summery goodness so far, here is your chance to play catch-up! Be it a kids’ craft, a recipe, party planning tips, or a chance to win some fabulous goodies, you’ll find an abundance of fun going on here all month long!

No. 7
Citrus Slice Cookies @ The Sweet Adventures of Sugar Belle

The seventh slot in this lineup is always reserved for something downright decadent, and I couldn’t break that tradition here, despite the fact that this doesn’t really go with this week’s theme. 😉 These cookies reminded me so much of the Freshly Squeezed pillows I crafted earlier this week, I just couldn’t resist including them. They exude summer, don’t you think? (And they look delicious, to boot!)

Happy Saturday, everyone!
