Summer Pedicure Tips from the Elephant’s Trunk

We’ve got a very fun feature this morning from Laurent at the Elephant’s trunk, who is teaching us how to prettify those pinkies just in time for flip-flop weather! Take it away, Lauren!

Hello everyone! I’m Lauren from the Elephant’s Trunk and I’m so happy to be here today to give you some tips on how to give yourself a fun summer pedicure. Lately I’ve been seeing so many fun pins of DIY pedicures and manicures on Pinterest that I became inspired to spruce up my toes in time for flip flop season.

I started with removing my prior polish, trimming my nails, buffing my heels and all the essentials that you receive when you go to the spa. Don’t neglect your toes people, toes need love too!

I’m a huge fan of Essie nail polish and I love that it’s available at Target. I picked up this fun and simple color called Mademoiselle because I knew I wanted my design to be a little more vibrant but the background to be a bit mute.

I separated my toes with cotton balls and painted two coats of the Essie nail polish on my toes. The easiest way to paint your toes is three brush strokes, starting from left to right.

After my nail polish had dried I picked out a few colors of acrylic paint I had.

I then gathered a few bobby pins and pushed them back so that I could use them as my “brushes”.

By simply dipping my bobby pin in the acrylic paint and then dotting the bobby pin on my toe nail I began to create polka dots on my toe nails.

That is how I easily created flip flop ready toe nails!

I want to thank Amy for letting me stop by today. If you’d like to visit with some more here is where you can find me:

How cute is this? And you saved money besides. I wouldn’t have thought of the bobby pin, but it worked perfectly.
