I am Amy: wife, mama of three (soon to be four!), and avid homemaker, sewist and crafter. 

Having three children in stair-step fashion has prompted me to develop a true passion for just about all things domestic: cooking, sewing, paper crafting, home decorating and more. This blog is a chronicle not only of our family goings-on, but also of my quest to create an inviting environment in which our love for one another can grow and flourish. 
My goal is for my blog to be a haven of crafting and DIY inspiration, and a place where creative people of all skill levels can come and feel right at home. Because I feel strongly that everyone should be equipped to create something beautiful on their own, each and every project at Positively Splendid is explained to the last detail with step-by-step photo tutorials. I like to think of each tutorial as sitting down with friends to learn something new together!

As I've embarked on my blogging adventure, authenticity has been of the utmost importance to me. I am a woman facing everyday, relatable issues like finding my first grey hairs and learning to cope with my tendency to be a perfectionist-procrastinator. 
My life is probably much like yours. The daily grind is a constant challenge. But I have found that devoting myself to living intentionally - to striving to see the beauty in even the most apparently mundane circumstances - is a truly splendid way to live life. There is so much joy to be found in life's simple pleasures, and I hope when you come here, you are inspired to discover for yourself how extraordinary a seemingly ordinary life can be when you determine yourself to savor every moment! I would love to share my journey with you!
